Importing Videos

There are few ways in which you can upload or import your video into Piktochart Video: 

IN THIS ARTICLE

Import from Zoom

To be able to import from Zoom, you will first need to ensure that you have a paid Zoom account as cloud recordings are only available on Zoom's paid plan. You can learn more about Zoom's plans here.

To import recordings from your Zoom account:

Login to your Piktochart account and click on Piktochart Video.

On your Piktochart Video Dashboard,, click on the Import from Zoom button.

Sign-in to your Zoom account.

Follow the instructions on the screen to provide the necessary permissions for us to import your Zoom recordings.

Upon successful authentication, click on the Import from Zoom button again on the Dashboard.

Select the recordings that you wish to import. Click Import from Zoom button to begin importing. 

Importing from Google Drive

To import your videos from Google Drive:

Log in to your Piktochart account and go to the Piktochart Video Dashboard.

Click on the Import from Drive button.

Sign-in to the Google Drive account that you wish to import the videos from.

Follow the instructions on the screen to provide the necessary permission for us to import your videos.

Once successful, you will see a Google Drive file selector.

You can either choose a video file to import or select a folder to import all the videos from there.

Click the Select button to start importing.

Importing from your Computer

To import your video file from your computer:

Log in to your Piktochart account and go to the  Piktochart Video Dashboard.

Click  Upload from Computer option.

Select the video file or a folder you'd like to upload from your computer.

Click  Open to import video. 

Recording Video

You can directly record a live video from Piktochart Video and transcript it. Here's how:

Click Start Recording to record your live video.

You will receive a pop-up to ask your permission to use your microphone and camera. Click Allow.

Click  Recording with Webcam again.

On your webcam page, you should see your front camera view with the options to choose your camera and audio settings from the dropdown.

Click the Record button (🔴) to start recording.

To pause the recording, click the Record button again. You will see a Pause button (⏸️).

Click the  Preview button to end the recording. You can decide if you would like to Record Again or Use Video if you are satisfied with your recording.

Once you have finished recording, your video will be transcribed and will be available under your Projects tab. 

Common Questions

Why did my video fail to upload or import?

Under some circumstances, you may face the issue where your video cannot be uploaded or imported.

This may happen due to one of the following reasons:

Video file too large 

If your video file is larger than 4GB in size, it most likely will not be able to be uploaded due to technical limitations. To resolve this, please try to convert your video to a smaller file size before attempting to upload it into Piktochart Video again.

Video too long

Depending on your account's subscription, there are different limits to the video length that you can upload or import. For example, as a Free user, you are only able to upload videos for up to 20 minutes while users who are subscribed to a Pro plan would have 90 minutes/seat per month.

You will need to trim your video shorter before attempting to upload it into Piktochart Video again according to the limit of your account.

Video Encoding Not Supported

Depending on how the video is recorded or created, it may have certain encodings on its video or audio stream which may not be compatible with Piktochart Video although we strive to provide support for most of the major types of encoding.

To resolve this, please try to convert your video into different formats before attempting to upload it into Piktochart Video again. For example, the most common video encoding format of H.264 works best.

Video Is Stuck At Transcribing

Sometimes, your video may get stuck while transcribing for an extended period of time. This usually happens when we have received a lot of video project creations at the same time from users around the whole world. 

Usually, it will resolve itself after some time, but in the case where it doesn't, you may need to delete the video and attempt to upload it again.

Video Missing Video or Audio Streams

Under some circumstances, the file that you're attempting to upload may have either the video or audio stream missing. 

You can verify this by trying to play the file using your video player of choice. If the file is able to be played and has a video and audio coming through, then that is a valid file that Piktochart Video would usually support. If either of them is missing, then it would not be able to upload to Piktochart Video.

What video format is supported? 

Piktochart Video works with almost all video files, with the following providing the best compatibility with the editor:

  • MP4
  • MPEG
  • MOV
  • WEBM

However, if your video file does not contain any audio, it will not work with Piktochart Video.
