How to Create and Organize Your Visuals on your Dashboard

Keeping your visuals organized makes it easier to find what you need and collaborate more efficiently. With folders, you can group related visuals together on your Dashboard — whether by project, team, client, or any structure that works for you.

Folder creation is limited by plan. Pro users can create 1 folder; Business and Enterprise users can create unlimited folders. Learn more about our plans.

Creating a Folder

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Click the "Add Folder" button
  3. Enter a name for your folder.
  4. Click Add to save it.
Your new folder will appear on your Dashboard, ready for you to add visuals into.

Want more folders? Pro users are limited to 1 folder. Upgrade to a Business or Enterprise plan to create unlimited folders and keep your workspace fully organized. See pricing.

Searching for a Visual

Looking for a specific visual? Use the Search bar at the top of your Dashboard to quickly locate it by name. This is especially useful if you have a large number of visuals or can't remember which folder it was saved in.

Arranging and Filtering Your Visuals

You can arrange or filter the way you want to view your visuals:
  • Arrange: Sort your visuals by Alphabetical Order or by Last Modified date — great for quickly surfacing your most recent work.

Filtering Your Projects

All projects (Visuals, Image and videos) will be displayed on your Dashboard.   You can narrow down what's shown on your Dashboard using the filter dropdown (set to "All Projects" by default). Choose from:
    • All Projects — shows everything in your workspace (visuals, images, and videos)
    • Visuals — shows only your visual projects.
    • Images — shows only image files generated using AI Image Generator.
    • Videos — shows only video files generated using AI Video Generator.
This makes it easy to focus on the type of project you're looking for without scrolling through everything.

Shared with Team Badges

If you're on a team, you'll notice badges on your visuals that indicate their sharing status at a glance:
  • Shared with the whole team — visible to everyone in your workspace.

  • Shared with certain team members — visible only to selected collaborators.

  • No badge — the visual is private to you.

These badges make it easy to track which visuals are collaborative and which are still personal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create folders inside folders (subfolders)?

Currently, Piktochart does not support nested folders. All folders are organized at the top level of your Dashboard.

Will my visuals be deleted if I delete a folder?

No. Deleting a folder only removes the folder itself. Any visuals inside it will be moved back to your main Dashboard and will not be lost.

Can my teammates see my folders?

Yes. If you are part of a team workspace, any folders created within the workspace can be viewed by the rest of the teammates. However, the visuals inside a folder is still controlled per visual.

I moved a visual into a folder and now I can't find it. What should I do?

Head to your Dashboard and browse through your folders. You can also use the "Search your projects" bar to search for the visual by name, regardless of which folder it's in.

Can I move multiple visuals into a folder at once?

Yes! You can use the multi-select option to select and move multiple visuals at once. Simply select up to 15 visuals at a time and move them into your desired folder all in one action.

My AI-generated visual is missing. Could it be in a folder?

It's possible, but AI-generated visuals that were only viewed in preview mode are not saved automatically. To save one, you must click "Save and Edit in Editor". If you did save it, check your folders and use the search bar to locate it.

Can I share an entire folder with my team?

At this time, sharing is done at the individual visual level, not the folder level. You'll need to share each visual separately.

How many folders can I create?

The number of folders you can create depends on your plan:

  • Pro — 1 folder
  • Business — Unlimited folders
  • Enterprise — Unlimited folders
If you need more folders, consider upgrading your plan. Visit our pricing page to learn more.
