Refunds
At Piktochart, we do our best to make our plans affordable while continuing to build new features and improvements for our users. Because of this, subscriptions are non-refundable, as stated in our Terms of Use.
That said, we review all refund requests carefully on a case-by-case basis. While we’d love to approve every request, some may fall outside our policy and are unfortunately not eligible for a refund.
Refunds are not granted for:
- Unused time left in your subscription
- Accidental purchases
- Unaware/Forgetting to cancel your recurring subscription
To avoid future charges, we recommend cancelling your subscription directly from your Account Settings if you no longer wish to continue. You’ll still have full access until your billing period ends.
What Happens When You Downgrade Your Plan?
When you cancel or downgrade your paid plan, here’s what to expect:
You’ll retain access to all paid features until your current billing period ends. After that, your account will switch to the Free Plan, and you’ll lose access to:
- All your saved visuals
- Download and sharing options
- Any unused AI credits
- Premium templates and assets
- Any published visuals will also be unpublished
To restore access, simply resubscribe to a paid plan at any time. Learn how to resubscribe.
How long do refunds take?
If your refund request is approved, the processing time depends on your bank or payment provider:
- Credit card refunds: Usually appear on your statement within 3–5 business days.
- Bank account refunds: May take 5–10 business days to reflect in your account.
These timelines can vary slightly depending on your bank’s processing speed. If you haven’t seen the refund after 10 business days, feel free to reach out!
Tax Refunds for Eligible Tax-Exempt Organizations
Sales tax is applied at checkout by our payment provider. However, if your organization is tax-exempt, you can request a sales tax refund after completing your payment.
Here's how:
- Submit your organization’s tax-exempt certificate to [email protected] (Paddle is our payment partner).
- Once approved, the sales tax will be refunded — usually within 3 to 5 business days.
- After the exemption is applied to your account, you won’t be charged sales tax on future purchases.
Common Questions
If I cancel my recurring plan, will I get a refund?
No—cancelling a recurring plan does not automatically issue a refund. It only stops future payments from being charged. You’ll still keep access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will automatically downgrade to the free plan.
If you’d like a refund, please note that our no-refund policy applies once a payment has been processed. To avoid being billed again, make sure to cancel your subscription before your next billing date.
