Change Image using Text-to-Image Generator

Piktochart’s Text-to-Image Generator allows you to easily swap out or create new images by simply typing a description. This tool helps you generate custom visuals without leaving the Piktochart!

💡This feature is now available on Infographic, Poster, Banner and Instagram Post formats.

How to Use the Text-to-Image Generator

  1. On Pikto AI, select a format (i.e Infographics) and insert prompt.
  2. Once visual is generated in the Preview page, hover over the image on the visual and click Change Image.

  1. Enter Your Prompt

    Describe the image you want in a few words or a sentence, and click Generate Image. Example:

    • “A group of people exercising in the gym”

You can also click Inspire Me for inspiration:


  1. Once the search results populate, click Use Image.

💡 Generated images can be found under your MyUploads library.


AI Credit Usage

Each time you generate an image using the Text-to-Image feature in Piktochart, 6 AI credits will be deducted from your balance.

Example: If you click “Generate Image” twice, you will use 12 credits total.

Free Plan 50 credits per month
Edu/NPO PRO Plan 500 credits per month

Common Questions

Can I still change the image in the Editor?

Yes, you can easily update the image in your visual by selecting from our built-in stock photo library or uploading your own. Click the Save & Edit this visual button in the upper right corner to open the Editor.

In the Editor:

Option 1: Use Stock Photos

In the Editor, go to Graphics > Photos. Browse and select from a wide range of stock photos. Learn more here: Adding Images


Option 2: Upload Your Own Image

To upload your own image:

  1. Click on the My Uploads tab in the left-hand menu

    Choose one of the following:

    • Drag & Drop your image into the upload area
    • Or click Browse Files to select an image from your computer
