Free User Account Limits
When you sign up for a free Piktochart account, you’ll have 7 days of access with the standard free plan features, plus temporary perks such as full access to all templates and 60 AI credits. If you do not upgrade to a paid plan within this period, your account will be locked, and your visuals will be deleted.
What You Get During the 7-Day Access Period
- Downloads: 2 download credits, with downloads available in PNG format only.
- Templates: Full access to all templates in the Piktochart library.
- AI Credits: 60 credits for AI-powered tools such as AI Visual Generation, AI Image Modifier and so on.
- No Payment Required: You won’t be charged—there’s no payment needed to start using your account.
- Upgrade Reminder: We’ll send reminders before your access ends so you can keep your visuals and account.
After 7 Days: Account Lock & Data Deletion
- Account Lock: On day 8, you will not be able to create or edit any more visuals, or access Pikto AI.
- Visuals Deletion: Any visuals saved during your free access will be deleted and they will not be restored. Your published visuals will be unpublished.
- No Recovery After Deletion: Even if you upgrade after your access ends, deleted visuals will not be recovered.
- Upgrade: If you subscribe within the 7 days period, you'll retain access to your visuals. However, should you cancel and downgrade in the future, you will lose your visuals again. If you subscribe AFTER the 7 days period, your visuals will still be deleted.
Existing Piktochart Users (Legacy) Who Have Never Subscribed
If you’re an existing Piktochart user (legacy users) who has never subscribed to a paid plan, you’ll be given 45 days to upgrade, from the date you received the email notification from us.
During the 45 Days
You will continue to have access to your free plan features. We’ll send you reminder notifications during this period so you have time to decide.
After 45 Days
If you haven’t upgraded to a paid plan, your account will be locked, and all your visuals will be deleted. Once deleted, visuals cannot be recovered—even if you upgrade afterward.
Upgrading During the 45 Days Window
Upgrade to Pro or Business within your 45-day window, and you’ll retain permanent access to every design you’ve created, even if you downgrade afterwards.
💡 If you’re unsure about upgrading, export any important visuals before the 45-day period ends.
How to Avoid Losing Your Work
- Upgrade Early: Subscribe to a paid plan before your access ends to keep your visuals and account active.
- Download Your Work: Export your visuals (PNG format) before your account is locked if you choose not to upgrade. Do note that there is a limit of 2 free download quota.

Where is all my saved visuals?
If you see this prompt and a screenshot similar to below, it means that your access or grace period has ended. A subscription is required to unlock your account so you can create new visuals, access Piktochart templates and Pikto AI.

Will I lose my visuals after the trial ends?
If you do not upgrade within the trial period of 7 or 45 days, your visuals will be deleted from your Dashboard. Upgrade now to ensure that you continue having access to your visuals.
Do I need to enter a credit card to start the trial?
No, you are not required to enter your credit card to start the trial!
What happens to my published visuals if I did not upgrade within the grace period?
If you’re on a free plan and did not upgrade, your published visuals will be unpublished and deleted once your free access period ends.
