How to Set Brand Font & Brand Font Schemes

Brand Fonts are the custom typefaces you individually upload and apply consistently across your designs. Whether you're creating a report, infographic, or presentation, having your official brand fonts available within the editor ensures visual harmony and professionalism.

A Brand Font Scheme is a predefined combination of fonts assigned to different text roles in your visual content, such as:

  • Heading font – for titles and major headings
  • Body font – for paragraphs or general content
  • Accent font (optional) – for quotes, highlights, or callouts

Once set, you can apply this scheme consistently across your visuals. In Piktochart, defining a font scheme ensures your visuals stay polished, cohesive, and on‑brand within a single click.

💡 NOTE

  • Business plan users can create and save an unlimited number of brand font and font schemes.
  • These features are not available on the Free or PRO plan.
  • Only Team Owners and Admins can create Font Schemes.

File Format

You can upload your font in three different formats: TTF, OTF, and WOFF. WOFF is the highly recommended format to use since it’s a compressed format and it loads faster.

If you encounter an error message while uploading your design, please ensure that you are using the correct font file format with proper metadata and that the file is not corrupted.

Using Font variants

Every font style has a family, and the supported variants are regular, bold, italic, bold and Italic. A regular variant (base font) is a required variant before you add on other variants. You can add them all to Piktochart and then use the upper menu to choose the right format.

If the font style that you’ve added has more than one variant, you can Click B for Bold and I for Italics in the editing toolbar found in the Editor. Click both B and I for Bold Italics.

Update Font Style Variants

If you need to update your font style variants, you can do so by clicking on the pencil icon. By clicking the pencil icon, you can replace an existing font style or add a new one under the same font family. You cannot remove a font style without deleting the font family - You need to delete the font and re-upload the fonts again.

💡 We do not support light variants as they tend to cause rendering issues on different browser/OS, especially on downloaded copies.

Common Question

Where can I find my uploaded fonts?

While working on your visuals, you’ll find your uploaded fonts in the font list within the editor. Just click the font drop-down menu to access them. If you don’t see your fonts right away, try refreshing your browser to reload the page.

Can I upload foreign fonts?

Yes! You can. As long as the font file supports foreign characters, it will work fine on Piktochart. If you’re looking for more font options, you can even consider using free fonts. Check out our Using Free (open-source) Fonts article to learn more!

How many fonts can I import?

The Brand Font Upload feature is exclusive to Business and Enterprise users. Free and Pro users do not have access to this feature. To unlock unlimited font uploads and streamline your brand consistency, upgrade to the Business plan here.

What happens if I’m no longer on the Business plan ?

If you downgrade to a Free plan, here’s what to expect regarding your uploaded fonts:

  • You will no longer be able to upload new fonts or edit existing ones.
  • You’ll still see the fonts you uploaded from the Uploaded Font list — but you won’t be able to make any changes to them.

Your existing visuals that use custom fonts will remain unchanged unless you manually switch the font. However, once you replace a custom font with a different one, you won’t be able to revert back to the original uploaded font unless you re-upgrade.

To regain access to your custom fonts and make edits, you can upgrade to the Business plan again.

Why isn’t my uploaded font displaying correctly?

Several factors can impact how your uploaded font appears, including browser compatibility, font file format, and OS settings.

To ensure your fonts display as intended, we recommend testing them across different browsers and operating systems. This helps identify and prevent any rendering issues, ensuring a consistent and professional look across all platforms.
