Getting Started with Piktochart

If you're new and wondering where to begin, this guide will walk you through the essential first steps to get started confidently. Whether you're here to create a report, infographic, video, or social media visual — you're in the right place.

Step 1: Create an Account

• Sign up for a free 7 days trial account on Piktochart.
• Verify your email if prompted, then log in.

Step 2: Choose What You Want to Create

Once you've logged into Piktochart, you will first land on the Piktochart Visual Dashboard.

• Scroll through our pre-designed templates according to their respective formats - infographics, Presentation, Posters, Reports, and Flyers.
• These are set to the optimal dimensions for each visual format. 

Browse through template categories or use the search bar. For example, use keywords like Technology, Annual reports, and etc. 

Step 3: Select a Template or a Blank Canvas

Click Edit Template once you have selected your template choice.

Or, if you prefer to start from a blank canvas, select the Start from Blank option.

Step 4: Edit Your Visual

Inside the Piktochart Editor, you can customise everything:

• Edit Text : Start by making edits to text by double-clicking the text box and customizing your content.

• Add graphics elements such as icons, photos, maps, charts and etc.

Further customize how your graphics look by changing the colors, resizing, or rotating them. 

• Add Photos : Click "Graphic > Photos" for stock images or Upload your own assets.
• Visualizing Data : Insert charts and maps to add data visualizations.

Edit styles

• Change fonts, colors, and sizes.
• Adjust layouts.

Use AI to Speed Up Design

Piktochart includes AI tools to help you create visuals faster with Pikto AI.

You can:

• Generate designs from text prompts.
• Turn documents into presentations or infographics.
• Create or edit images using AI.

Step 5: Download, Share, or Present Your Visual

Once you're done designing, you can either:

• Download in PNG, PDF or PPT file
• Publish and share as an online Presentation
• Share directly on social media.

Is Piktochart free to use?

Yes. New users can try Piktochart with full access during the 7-day free trial. This lets you explore the editor, templates, and key features.

After the trial ends, your account will be downgraded to the limited Free plan, where your access to your visuals and projects will be blocked. To continue enjoying full access and unlock advanced capabilities, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

How to create a free account and login?

To get started, sign up for a free account on the Piktochart website. Once you’ve completed the sign-up process, you’ll receive a confirmation email to verify your account.

After that, you can log in using a magic link:

1. Go to the login page.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Check your inbox for the magic link.
4. Click the link to access your account instantly—no password required.
